Hi,

I have one new and a rebuilt trim cylinder and cleaned the tilt/trim pump/reservoir. All fresh fluid and the trim cylinders are primed and go up and down no problem and stay up when stored. No leaks!
So now when running the boat in the water at speed the drive keeps dropping down and I have to manually bring it back to level with the switch on the lever.
Is there something that causes this?

Boat is a 2003 Glastron with SX-M sterndrive.

Thanks!

I seem to remember a post about debris getting caught under one of the valves in the pump causing this. Volvo Penta fitted a filter into the line to fix this. Perhaps do a search and you might find it. The valve body can be rebuilt. You could also clamp off the fluid lines to see if it is the ram piston seals or the pump causing the problem.

unless you notice a leak somewhere, then it is probably the pump that needs attention.

debris in the pump. if you are reluctant to work on it yourself, then take it to a hydraulic shop. it can be rebuilt for under $100
