Outdrive slow coming up?

I recently bought a 1990 sea ray 180 with a 4.3 mercruiser and alpha one outdrive. When lifting up the outdrive comes up very slowly and sometimes need help going all tge way up. Going down is not a problem what so ever, any help would be nice thanks!

Start with checking the fluid levels for sure. There will be a hydraulic fluid reservoir usually mounted on or near the transom on those sea rays I believe
