Outdrive side to side slop

Have a bravo 3 that has 1 or so inches side to side play when on the trailer. It seems like its probably the steering arm or the steering pin. Can either of those have occurred due to an impact with an underwater rock pile? Or is that just normal wear?

impact should not cause it,failure to service the 2 pinch bolts seasonally will cause looseness and corrosion dosent help either

Yeah, that play comes from the steering pin bolts not being serviced in the past. They should be torqued to I *think* 50 foot pounds seasonally. If the play gets real loose the gimbal ring may break when tightening those bolts. If they are kept torqued, it’s never an issue.
