Hi. I have a 1996 celebrity 18’firestart with a mercuriser 5.7 and alpha 1 outdrive. The outdrive word great with the throttle in neutral position and the outdrive raises and lowers on the transom button. But when you start to throttle up past idle the outdrive will start to raise on its own until it goes up as high as it will go until the prop is out of the water. Has anyone ever had this happen to them ? What was the issue? It just started doing this over the weekend and it doesn’t do it every time you start to throttle up but seems likes it’s getting worse.
