Everything was working fine on Friday. Then went out yesterday to boat launch and outdrive didn't work at all, it was a dead battery. Bought a brand new Optima blue top and put it in. The controls on the throttle would lower the drive but won't raise the drive. Only The trailer button will raise the drive. I've done some reading and looks like the limiter sensor on the outdrive could be the problem. But I do have a few questions.... Such as.. could it be that my brand new Optima is not fully charged? Not enough juice in the battery to raise the drive with the throttle switch? Is that even a possibity? Second question, could it be a fuse? I also heard that cleaning the sensor on the drive has fixed some people's issues. I'm terrible with electricity and want to do all the easiest things I can such as charging my new battery to full and change the fuses. Could it be as simple as low battery or fuse even though the down switch works and so does the trailer switch?
Thanks all

Probably a bad trim limit switch. Could you let us in on what drive and year you have?

no easy button here. most likely a trim limit switch or wiring. jumper the limit switch and retest. if it now works with the trim button ,the limit sw is bad.

Anyone know what size the bullet connectors are on the limit switch? Can I buy a jumper with two male ends to bypass this switch? What should I use to bypass?

I would think as a test wire you could use some alligator clips....

Buy??? Just make... 2 standard red bullet connectors and a 1" length of 'normal' wire (obviously that fits into the red bullet connectors.)... shouldn't take more than about 2 minutes to make it...

You then install that in the trim pump harness in place of the trim limit switch. Down at the pump end you'll find a blue/white wire and a purple/white wire each with a female bullet connector on. Just unplug the 2 black wires and plug you're newly made jumper in.... Now the drive should tilt all the way up with just the "TRIM" button.... (Yes, you can still use the TRAILER button)...
