Outdrive/Engine Stand Adapter

So I'm not sure if this is allowed or not based on the forum rules, but I am making an adapter that goes in an engine stand that works as an outdrive stand. The idea is it will have the 6 bolts used on the alpha drives and mount to the same mounting face as the bell housing. This allows it to be rotated in any position. The thing I don't like about my wooden stands I've made before is they are always in the way of certain areas of the drive. With the adapter I'm making, you will have access to the entire drive.

The reason I'm posting this here is 2 fold... I want to get feedback from you guys that might have some valuable input on how I can maybe improve the design. I've done some mechanical finite element analysis on it to make sure its up to the weight. I've analyzed it with a drive weight of up to 600lbs hanging off at a 90? angle with no signs of yielding which is way overkill but figured a good safety factor won't hurt. No one wants an oudrive crashing to the ground.

MOD EDIT - This part is not in keeping with the rules, the rest is fine.

Let me know your thoughts regarding input.

Thanks!

EDIT: having trouble uploading picture for some reason... I'm working on it...

My thoughts are to consider the torque that would be required to rotate the outdrive in a raised position, similar to the tilt position on the boat.

Since the outdrive in its installed fashion uses a tilt force via the trim rams which are further away from the axis of rotation, the 6 bolts are not normally subject to the kind of torque forces that your stand may impart.

Not a bad thought but going to be hard to move. This is my engine stand that also used to rebuild the drive

I've seen lots of stands that fork type of support but I still don't like how its in the way a bit... maybe ill try to get the drive up higher so its center of mass is closer to the pivot point.

I also just realized the model I found for the drive isn't an alpha, so I'm going to have to make a few tweaks anyways...

if your pulling drive models off of grab cad, not a single one of them is accurate

This is cute but would help everyone looking IF you could show who is selling it. Getting properties from the pic it comes up with
cdn3.bigcommerce.com

I think cdn3 is from Canada but still doesn't get us any closer to the actual item.

Can you post a link to the vendor?

I've seen that thing and it costs about as much as a new lower unit lol...

I'm looking for a more practical solution that people might actually afford....

Its an iboats competitor. Simply google engine stand outdrive adapter. The one shown is listed as $275, however i have seen it as low as $150

There are fork adapters like you have made for about $60
