I got a 1975 Thunderbird with a 351 Ford and merc 233 outdrive the trim motor is a three wire three button system. Problem is I could not get the outdrive to come up only the "in" button would make the motor kick on...where do I start!!!! I got the boat for free because it had sat for 7 years and did not run..it now runs all my problems are outdrive related

Do you mean it will only trailer up, and not trim up? If that's what you mean it's more than likely your trim limit switch. Check all of your connections and make sure all wiring is solid and you have voltage. If you can trim down & trailer up, but not trim up, it's the limit switch.

Limit switch, as said. No biggie. Hold the top two of the three buttons down at the same time and it will come up...

Yeah, it's the same switch as pretty much all the boats of that vintage. The top two buttons will bring it up.

I guess I should say the blue wire was one of two blue wires connected together on what I think is a solenoid

Was just looking at the picture of your trim pump, what happened to the connector that goes on the receptical shown by the arrow? Without it, it's not going to work.

You have to save it to your computer first, then open it. If you just opened it and didn't save it, then it would disappear.

Another thing that happens to me, is saving it to a different location on your computer than what I thought I did, just do a search for "Service Manual #02.pdf" and you should find it on your computer if that is what happened.
