Hello Again,

I just got a power trim installed on my outboard. Everything works great except for the fact that I cant find a home for the gigentic power trim motor. My question is kind of stupid but here it goes:

Can the Power trim motor lay sideways or does it have to be up-right? I can find a home for it sideways but not up-right...

Any Suggestions?
Thanks
Zipp

It appears that you have an inboard motor with hoses going to the outboard. See those bent metal mounting plates? Remove them and fabricate an angle plate to mount it to the firewall or transom or whatever place you choose in an upright position.

Yea, Im not sure what I got all I know is that it works :). As far as removing the plates that will only gain me less then 1/4". Currently I have it off the brackets but cant go anywhere with it. If it needs to be in up-right position then I will have to deal with it not being hidden

Gee, mine fit under the splashwell of my 16 foot bass-style boat. You have less vertical room than that?

Yea, I am like 3/4" short. I found a spot where I can mount it in the back. The only thing is if I ever have to do any maintenance on it it will be a ***** to get out. But hopefully the maintenance wont be as frequent.

Mine fit under the very side of the splashwell, as it was a little higher than the middle. I had to tilt it to get it in, and then install the screws to hold it in place.
