Need to build a simple functional wood motor stand to hold two small outboards (6 and 9.5 HP). Any links to plans or description of simple design. Thanks.

With those small motors, you can use a simple sawhorse. Put a cross piece of wood between the legs of the 'horse, to hold the gearcase vertical, if necessary.

I used to use an old hand truck I got from a garage sale ($10.00) and had a friend weld a steel plate on it. I can move the motor around with ease. You can also check Ebay or Craigslist for used hand trucks built for outboards.

deejaycee made a rollable stand out of an old push mower, by welding 2 pieces of steel to the mower deck, and putting a crossbar to attach the outboard to.

Re: Outboard Motor Stand plans

After viewing other OB stands, I built my own today.
Holds both my Evinrude 9.5HP and Trolling Motor like a champ!

Thanks for the tips ...
