Outboard Motor pops out of water in reverse

1985 35hp Mercury outboard on a Basstracker with new CMC Power Tilt and Trim unit installed and the motor is not locked down while in reverse. Too much gas and she pops right out of the water.<br />What am I missing? Did I install this incorrectly?

Howdy, Bassman.<br /><br />Did you disable or remove the reverse locking latch? It should still work.<br /><br />Good luck.

On the power trim.tilt there should be a knob that turning it one way the motor will pop up in reverse, turning it the other way locks the motor in what ever position you have it. Check to see if your unit has one.<br /><br />Craig
