outboard boats can blow up too i guess

bummer. checking out the local news this morning and i see someones boat blew up at my local watering hole yesterday. http://www.1011now.com/home/headlines/Branched_O_117473924.html

what surprised me was watching the clip. it was an o/b boat the blew up. ya don't see/read that often. i wonder what the cause was.
hope they find the guy unaccounted for but i don't hold much hope. his rescued buddy said last he heard he was swimming for shore. 1000' feet out. ice not totally off the lake yet. hypothermia would come on real fast i'd think...

what a bummer start to the season at my local watering hole.

Gas tank is still inside, even if the engine isn't.....

don't look so good, so far. also has turned from a rescue mission to a recovery mission.

it's just a darn shame when this stuff happens.
avid fishermen, got at least some of the right stuff (pfds). fire extinguisher unknown though. not like it sounds like it'd have made a difference. sounds like she blew, fully engulfed then died out except for the bow area.

i don't think they've narrowed the cause down yet. only that it started in the fuel tank. how that happens i don't know.

like i said, just a bum start to the 2011 season to me. home lake and all.

good news was, 10/11 news reported that the survivor had been released from the hospital. great that he's gonna be alright..
