Out of State Boat ?

Local dealer has a 2004 Chaparral 180 SSi in stock. However from the photo I see the registration starts with a KY not a WN as other boats have in Wash State. Do boats, like used cars, get sold at auctions and moved around, or is this more likely a trade in?

There is no telling how he got it. Bought it, trade in, auction, etc. As him how he wound up with a boat from Kentucky. At least you know it wasn't used in salt water regulary.
