Well, we had our Ice Fisheree yesterday on the Maunesha River 'mill pond'. I didn't fish but was goofin' around on the puter and drinking some suds while measuring fish. Saw some nice Crappies and Perch come in tho. No Northerns made it to the station but, we herd some guys that didn't bother bringing in their leagals because they were barely over.. to bad.<br /><br />All in all a good day and evening in our small town with just under 100 kids 16 and under registered for the days event. 
<br /><br />The event is a direct result of our efforts to better the water system here .. we're still learning and stocking and structuring. Last years Fall stocking efforts were 2000 ea. of Bluegills & Perch and 1300ea. Crappies while subsidizing the efforts with 300lbs of minnows (roughly 60,000). Durring the summer months we donate .25 cents to each Carp a child brings into one of two places and so far it's been paying off for both the system and the kids <br /><br />Its an effort the local community as a whole has contributed to and hopefully will continue to do so in the future.<br /><br />All monies in the form of profit aid the following:<br />Wisconsin Lions Foundation (Lions Camp for children with disabilities) <br />Red Cross Bloodmobile <br />Waterloo/Marshall Food Pantry <br />Six graduating seniors who are awarded $500 scholarships annually <br />Lions Teen Leadership Program <br />Marshall Historical Society <br />Lions Youth Exchange <br />Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin <br />Marshall High School Junior Class <br />Local kids in need of eye exams and glasses <br />Local kids in need of winter clothing <br />Needy persons who are hearing impaired <br />Marshall "Teener" League <br />Marshall Community Theater <br />Lions Club International Foundation <br />Marshall High School Band <br />Marshall High School Cheerleaders <br />Leader Dog Program <br />Marshall EMS <br />Marshall Police Dept. <br />Marshall Fire Dept. <br />Marshall Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts <br /><br /><br />just a quick picture of the board - nothing big but, it was a good time.
