The website below has books for sale or just 1 map for download at $3.95/each that includes Otsego Lake. I have books for many other New York lakes, not Otsego, and have been very happy with the detailed information, detailed depth charts, and detailed fishing locations.

Re: Otsego Lake NY

Any guidelines for where to start trolling salmon or trout on Otsego in July? Going to have my boat in the area July 10-17-ish. Want to catch a few while I am am nearby. Any local advice? Depth? Location? I have a contour map.
Thanks!

Re: Otsego Lake NY

mark, Otsego Lake is a great fishery and a beautiful lake. I have fished the lake for the last 5 years catching mainly lakers and browns. the salmon have become scarce. i fish late april and early may because of time and equipment constraints. planner boards with spoons or rapala original . this works in may but july ? i doubt it
The problem with otsego lake is access. if you plan on launching and retriving get there early. there is only 1 state launch with about 10- 15 spots for trailers. the trailer has to be disconnected and parked seperatley from your veichle.
there is a tackle shop south of the village and the owner will be able to provide you with more info on where and what to use. when i find his card ill repost and give you his phone and address.

Cool- would love to talk to the guy. If he's not full of air he'll probably get some sales out of me too.

Salmon are down? I had read somewhere that salmon count was good there. DEC maybe? Salmon are hard to find anywhere cuz they chase the water temp - that I do know!

Thanks for the info.
