Got some money in my pocket and would like some input from anybody who has used any or all 4.
I know the 4000E is the same as the DDT, but are the cartridges becoming expensive/obsolete? The 4000E's are on ebay for 200 bucks, but I know i'll need the cartriges.
Anybody know if I can do Optimax's with a techmate or Diacom? I know the techmate and diacom will do most brands of I/O's but, anyone know if the Techmate or Diacom will work on other brands of outboards?
Can I save a few bucks by staying with a techmate? Or should I really go all in and spring for the Diacom. I hear the diacom comes with some of their own manuals for troubleshooting outside of what's in the books, can anyone confirm that?

I'll be giving Rinda a call in a day or two but wanted to get some input from anybody that has any of these.
Thanks all!

Unless you do a LOT of EFI work, the Techmate will do just fine. While the computer is nice, they are almost impossible to see outside, expensive, and can be damaged easily. I can take the Techmate to a boat very easily. The DDT and it's cartriges will be needed for most of the outboards, not even the diacom covers them.

Don thanks for the input. Do you use mainly the techmate or do you use the DDT/diacom?
What is Merc offering for a scan tool on the opti's because as far as I understand it the DDT has went by by.
