After reading weeks worth of posts re: troubleshooting OB problems...I've compiled this list of bascic troubleshooting steps. Some of these have actually been suggested to me...

Problem: Boat won't run at WOT in the water, runs great on the hose.

Solution: Take the boat off the trailer. If it's off the trailer, untie it from the dock. If it's untied from the dock, tilt the motor in the water. If the motor is in the water, point the bow AWAY from the ramp.

Problem: Engine stalls, misfires, runs away, starter grinds.

Solution: Remove wife from behind console. If problem persists, remove wife from boat.

Problem: Won't get up on plane

Solution: Remove kids hanging over bow.

Problem: Slow out of the hole

Solution: Unwrap anchor rope from prop.

Problem: Where is all this water coming from? I checked hull and found no cracks.

Solution: Plug......

I hope these help some of the more novice boaters....

I actually got the "untie from dock" answer to a post of mine.....
