I did some reading of the post and I saw the full bridge rectifier replacement thread. I didn't see a follow up to see if it worked. Some of the links are not showing up explaining the setup. Does the full bridge work and should I use it or order a 'fier/reg? I found the cheapest one at surplus unlimited.com for 126 and it is made by cdi. Is it any good? Thanks Mike

Which do you have now? The rectifier or the water cooled rectifier / regulator?

What motor do you have?

Sorry, it's a 70 horse 'rude 92 model, I don't think it's water cooled

Are you sure the one for $126 is the right one? Sounds kind of expensive for the rectifier on a 70.

I used after market components to repair/replace the rectifier on my 1981 115hp Evinrude. Of course it was only an 8 amp or so alternator. Given that your motor is much newer, I would replace it with an oem unit. I don't know what your output is on this engine, but it's probably more than the older engines like mine was.

What you need is a #193-4476 10 Amp regulator/rectifier. It goes for about $120

What a difference one year makes. I have a 91 Rude 70 HP and it's only $33.00!

The difference must be the cooling fins, amps and such. Crazy...

Hi I looked it up at a place I thought was cheap and it was 158.95 so 122.00 sounds good to me.
steve

Re: Order a rectifier.....or radio shack it?

Sorry it took so long to get back with ya on this. original part # is 584476 and it had 16AR-0A
stamped on it also. The part is 191.94 at the boat dealers here and 126 online. A bit of a mark up so I think I'll get it offline. The motor is VE70TLEND. Can you retrofit the older reg and rectifier to these, sounds like it would be cheaper if it ever bites the dirt again.
