Not sure how serious this is, but hey i'll ask the question!

I was filling my tank from a 25litre jerry can with a plastic spout on the end. Somehow this came off and has fallen into the fuel tank... Now i'm sure anything in the fuel tank isn't a good thing, but is it going to cause a major issue?

Its a large plastic nozzle, which floats, so I assume its got no where of really going and is just going to float around? I guess the fuel going out of the tank goes out a very small fuel hose? If a car is anything to go by, the fuel hoses are very small indeed.

I'd prefer to wait till the end of the season and get it out then.

This is on a glastron GT 249.

What are peoples opinions on this?

Naw, it won't hurt anything at all. The thing I find in gas tanks that causes real trouble is those little foil seals from oil bottles. They can cover up the pickup screen and shut/burn you down. (2 strokes don't like to be lean.)

hope it helps

If you have access to the fuel gauge sending unit you may be able to remove it to fish the spout out.

I was thinking the same thing.

I don't think that it would hurt anything, but if it was me, I would get it out.

Just be extremly careful if you remove the sending unit and fish it out that way. It should work but you will be letting alot of vapors out. Give it some time to air out and disconnect your batteries, no flames, etc!
