Hello all,

I've been looking at 94/95 290 dancers and am wondering if anyone could provide opinion on the performance difference between the T4.3L and T5.7? I appreciate hearing comments on reliability as well. thanks in advance.

if it were me....i would go with the v8's......they will give you plenty of power....the 4.3's will be a little underpowered in my opinion....especially with people and gear aboard...although, if its going to be a "dock queen" whats the difference

I know a guy with an 06 280 which is the 290, he has T4.3L and is very happy with them. I would look at both boats closely and buy the one that suits you the best, v8's would give a little more power but they also weigh more so who knows, sea trial both and see what the difference is.

Keith,

Last August we purchased a 94 290 with the twin 4.3LX Vortec engines. Our boat is on the heavy side as it is equipped with a generator. Although it is no speed demon it is a nice cruiser. Full fuel, water, lots of beer, 4 adults and 2 kids we cruise around 23 knots (25 mph) at 3300 - 3400 rpm in average seas, dead calm is a little better. Balance the load, use the tabs and it's fine.

I apologize, how many these Twin 4.3 burn gas (approximately). Thanks
