I might get a 65 18hp johnson, are they tough and bulletproof, and what will interchange between that and my 57 18hp?
Thanks,
Chris

Almost everything mechanical will interchange. It should be as bulletproof as the '57 or more so, as they are virtually the same. Rick

I have some parts breakdowns for my '56 15HP and if you look at BRP's site most of the stuff on that one even interchanges up through the early 70's .

Biggest differences are the '65 has a thermostat, which means a different cylinder block and head. And of course the obvious different hood and mountings.

Agreed, but the "wear" parts are pretty much the same. Rick
