I am very familiar with bass boats, but we now have a cabin on Lake of the Ozarks and want to move up to a bow rider. Been doing a lot of looking at the ads and have found one that I think may be a fair deal. Haven't seen it in person yet, but thought I would ask this board for their opinion. Here is the ad and pictures (I hope they post):

1990 22-foot Searay Bow Rider. Has 5.7 Chevy Mercruiser motor with Alfa One outdrive, mirage stainless prop., perfect mechanical condition. Everything works (all gauges, blower, speedow, etc.). This boat is turnkey ready! Comes with Tandem axil trailer and snap on boat covers, which are also in great shape. Comes with all original manuals and documentation. Boat is on lift at the Lake of the Ozarks. Will demo. $6,950.

Looks nice. I'd imagine if it's been sitting on a lift all of it's life it might be just that nice. Course he didn't spell axle correctly so I'd be suspicious...lol. I do notice that it doesn't quite look like a 22 footer.

Really nice riding boat. I've owned one. Trailer??? A little high-priced IMO, even with S/R trailer, unless it's PERFECT, even then, in my region anyways, about 1k too high. Check for soft-spots!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like a really nice boat. I paid $5K for my 20' '88 Seville BR with the 4.3L in California last year, I'd expect to pay more for the two year newer boat and extra 2 feet, so the price doesn't sound too bad to me. I really like the Sea Ray hull design, very smooth ride, handles wakes and chops very well.

As stated above, check the floors very well for soft spots. Check over the engine, all rubber should look new or close to it, outside of engine should be clean, bilge under engine should be clean and not very oily (a little oil always seems to get there, however). Check condition of corrogated hoses between engine and outdrive- don't want any cracks or splits.

And of course, engine should start easily, run smoothly at all speeds, etc, during your sea trial.

Good Luck
