I have a 30 HP Yamaha(1998) longshaft on my 15ft aluminum boat . I just bought it and it only has about 15 hours on it . I was wondering how those aftermarket lift/trim units are ? I found this one made by CMC

They tend to be very pricey. You would probably be best served by adding a dolfin on your motor and just keeping the trim pin at a happy medium.
This should give you very good results.

Bob

Problem with that idea is I use this boat in our river system and a lot in lakes . Stopping at gravel bars in heavy currents is the norm . When your trying to manouver a boat in fast water towards the bar(shallow shore) and then run back and pull up the engine before you turn the prop into mush .Its tricky in a smaller boat as well .When it comes to $ 433.00 investment on a $ 3000.00 (new) engine it doesnt seem that pricey .
