Opinions on 25' Grady White?

I am strongly considering a 1990 25' Grady White Trophy Pro cuddy. It is powered by original Yamaha 200's. Options include a windlass, hardtop, cushions package, and limited electronics. No trailer. The boat was dry stored from day one, so the hull is a 9+ on a scale of 10. The owner claims that the motors have 196 original hours. He wants $22,000 with no trailer.<br /><br />Any opinions on this boat would be appreciated.

I just bought a 1993 23' Grady. Know what your goin'through! They didn't start making them with the SeaV2 hull until '92, Why was this boat sittin' around for 12 years? I had a survey done on mine, it came back great, only minor spider cracks, practically no moisture and minor stuff like needed new batteries and light socket. Make sure it doesn't smell musty in the cabin. Get a survey done and have a mechanic check the engines. $22,000 is a great price if it's in good shape (the boat is probably fine, it's the engines you should be careful of... expensive to replace). ABOS Marine blue book retail price is 26,145 the high wholesale is 20,863 before any options.

Thanks for the reply First Boat. <br /><br />What is the SeaV2 hull? The boat was used sparingly by an owner who has a bunch of toys. The hull is just amazingly immaculate. The only reason it doesn't look brand new is due to the aluminum and chrome components starting to lose their luster. I am going to make an offer and get it throughly check out this weekend.

I think 22K is a good price if the engines check out OK. From a 1988 25ft. Sailfish owner

Grady White redesigned their hull and called it a Sea V2 . I'm not sure how much difference it makes in performance, although they don't do that too often. The Grady White website goes into it a little bit. The dealers say it was a great improvement but those are the dealers! Good luck this weekend!
