Looking for opinions on Monaro boats. I’m eyeing up a 21’ Monaro EXP. Seller says the only thing it needs is trailer brakes and was quoted $2300 to do that. This is our first boat - we live on Vancouver Island and I’m looking for something to get out on the water to do gulf island cruising and fishing with the wife and kids on. Was hoping to stay south of $12,000 - $15,000 but would stretch my dollar for the right vessel. 18’ - 20’ with a bit of a cuddy and porta-pot are on my wish list. Any other suggestions for something folks think might work for me would be great as well. Cheers

Being a 1989, it should have a good marine survey to check for any hidden rotted wood in stringers and transom . Hulls rot from bottom up so you need to get in deep for a quality inspection !! If it qould be rotted, you would double the price to get it fixed easily
