have '96- 225 oil injected with new hole in crank case .the motor has lower unit with 30 hrs. on it. also has new fuel pump. i'm on the fence for reman. power head , or used motor. I have read some negative post ( other sites) as to the
quality of some rebuilds as to say you are better of with used motor. a company that I've seen, Out board exchange seems
to be reputable and stands behind their power head for 1 year, the thing they do with their reman. engines is eliminate
the oil injection system (merc and evinrude only) I would like to here your opinion before I call them.i was hopeing
someone had dealings with reman. motors ,exspecialy Outboard Exchange. thanks in advance.

You need to find out what caused the failure as a reman powerhead is a temp fix till it happens again. The oil injection rarely fails on a 3.0 L motor and doubt that was the problem, most likely your going to find a injector problem and leaned out cylinder. Send the injectors off and have them flowed/balanced and tuned(Brucato).
