Opinion needed - 1996 Chris Craft 18ft Bow Rider

Hi, We are looking at buying our first boat. We found a boat that has all of what we were looking for. Its listed as a 1996 Concept 18ft bowrider, with power steering, 3.0l Volvo Penta SX strern drive.

Can all the avid boaters out there give us your feedback on this make, model and year?

Is it a good standing boat, any known concerns. Should I look at anything imparticular when we go see it tomorrow?

We will also arrange for an inspection from a Marine shop.
Besides a compression test, what other inspections should I request.

All your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Chris Craft makes great boats. I would expect that boat to sell for less money on account of the smaller engine. I think that will hurt the value and make it harder to sell, but not substantially so.

What do you think a boat like this is worth in good condition. I do not want to over pay and there aren't too many options out there to compare.

The asking is $9800 CAD. What's a good counter because I think its a bit high.

I would expect to pay approx 5k US$$ for that boat in above average condition, but not excellent.

The thing with boats is that resale value is very regional. It might be worth a trip to buy one somewhere else.

dirtyoldman is spot on. That price is very high although regional pricing can vary.

There is a 95 Chris Craft 21ft Bow Rider (Volvo 5.0) at a local marina for $6995.
