Hello:

I live in southeast Louisiana, and was recently given an old Bass Tracker flatboat. It was a Katrina victim and went under water for a bit, but doesn't look too bad. So I was hoping I could fix it up.

The boat came with a 35hp Mercury outboard motor. It has "Oil Injected" printed on the cover. However, I don't see any holding tank for the oil. Nor do I know much about Mercury outboards.

The motor is not frozen, and looks to be in fair condition. I just don't know where to start. Does anyone know of a web site where I can look up the model and year ? Perhaps order an operator's manual ?

Re: operation manual

The 35 twins had a mickey mouse oil injection system, so some wise probably through is away and mixed the oil and thats what I would advise you to do. You can ck the serial number at www.maxrules.com/ or give us the #

Re: operation manual

Got a call back from Mercury Marine. Guy told me the engine is a 1987 model, and not to worry about "oil injection" unit. Just start mixing my gas and oil manually.

I got a new battery and tried to start it again. However, I think something is wrong with the Throttle/control box. Guess I'm going to have to figure out where I can get a replacement.

Just hope such thing aren't hard to change.

I was very impressed at how fast Mercury got back to me though. Seem like good people to do business with.
