ONLY IN TEXAS

A seagull in Galveston , TX has developed the habit of stealing Doritos from a neighborhood convenience store. The seagull waits until the Manager isn't looking, and then walks into the store and grabs a snack-size bag of cheese Doritos.

Once outside, the bag gets ripped open and shared by other birds..

The seagull's shoplifting started early this summer when he first swooped into the store in Galveston , and helped himself to a bag of Doritos. Since then, he's become a regular. He always takes the same type of chips.

The Manager thinks it's great because people are coming to watch the feathered thief make the daily grab and run, and that's good for business, and especially since customers have begun paying for the seagull's stolen bags of Doritos because they think it's so funny.

However, the Manager did say, "This is Texas , and if that seagull starts to grab a 6-pack of beer to go along with the Doritos, I may have to put a stop to it."

________________________________________________________________

The email I got this in had a neat video of the gull walking into the store and out again with his Doritos. I haven't the 'puter skills to get that into this post. :(

I remember seeing that on video on YouTube a while back. That was really cool that the seagull found an angle for free snacks!!!

TD is working on getting the video posted for me.

I wonder if LadyFish trained that bird and she is getting a cut.

Very funny. It reminded me of an incident at a large grocery store near my cottage. A black bear discovered the automatic doors which led directly to the fruit and vegetables at the all night store. Now that would be a video!

Lone Star is not drunken by Texans. It is only brewed for the amusement of Snowbirds, and tour groups from Europe and the Orient. :D

Ayuh,.... Not to steal your Thunder JB, but another Flyin' Rat story....

Maybe 8 or 10 years ago, We were a few hours up north of here, in Plattsburg, building a huge retirement home on the shores of Lake Champlain...

Everyday, the Roofers would take a 9:am coffee break, running over to the Drunkin' Donut for treats...
Us, being Pavers, take our breaks between dump trucks of material, rather than by the clock...
The Roofers, being nice guys were bringing Our treats,+ leaving 'em on a sidewalk for Us to have slightly later...
The danm Flying Rats were Sooooo Brave, they'd walk right up to the donut box,+ Steal our food...
They wouldn't leave til someone was only a few feet away, then flying up to the roof to watch for a clear shot again...

This scenario went on for about a week,....
Finally, 1 of my ground guys brought out his fishin' pole....
We tied on a Donut for bait,+ set it out(no hook).... Sure enough, Seconds later he had a Bite...
When he grabbed the pole, the Flying Rat with the donut dropped it,+ the other Flying Rat that was trying to steal it from the 1st 1, got tangled up in the fishin' line....
It put up a 'ell of a Fight, til I told Tommy to give 'em some line,...
It flew up onto the roof,+ Tommy snapped off his line....
That bird sat on the roof ALL day pickin' the fishline off himself...

I guess he musta gone back to the roust,+ told the other Flying Rats about it, because,...
We Never had anymore Flying Rats stealing our chow after that....

Incorrect.

Real Texas Beers are Saint Arnold, Live Oak, Southern Star and Shiner to name a few.
Lone Star Brewery closed down in 2000 and is now brewed by Miller in Ft. Worth.
There's no Lone Star in this Native Texan's cooler.

Well, when I was still allowed to drink beer Shiner Bock was probably one of my favorites, but that is not the point.

The point is that you have no basis to make such disparaging remarks about Lone Star beer.

Native Texan? My great grandfather was a protege of Sam Houston and brother in law of Captain John Allen, founder of the city of Houston. Is that Texas enough for you?

Apparantly even Seagulls don't have the stomach for such local delicacies as haggis and black pudding! I think my wife's cooking might have something to do with Long Island seabirds resorting to junk food!:p
