did ya look at the cable adjustment,,also I went through this on a evin outboard myself found out the linkage arm under the engine cover was rusted slightly and wouldnt move out of the way of the rotating point housing,lube it got it to rotate correctly and yes i am know the proud owner of a boat that goes forward,,got lots of laughs i use to hit the lake and fish in reverse,,,
