One tube fits all?

Looking for one tube that will fit all of our needs. We have 2 kids, ages 6 and 4. Need a tube that they can preferably sit in and ride together in relatively calm waters. But also want a tube that my wife and I can ride single on and have some airborne, flipping, and crashing fun on. Assuming my kids might not want to ride it alone at first I would like the tube so that me or my wife could ride with one of the kids to get them feeling comfy on it as well. Any suggestions? Not too concerned with price.

Re: One tube fits all?

Not sure if this will meet all your needs, but will come close. It's a 2 person tube but an adult with a 4 yr old should fit in the seat at the rear ok and the 6 yr old in the front. One issue though for small children is the handles are too far apart so small kids tend to hold on one side only.

I've purchased this a few months ago, and my ten year old loves it. I've had 2 teens and/or two adults in it as well as one adult and small child in the back and my 10 year old in the front with no issues.

This tube can be very stable for the safety and enjoyment of your small ones, but I've also created enough chop and 'slingshot effect' taking them inside/out on the wake to produce a lot of fun. If you're intent is to get dumped off, it can be done, but not as easily as the single tubes.

Two things I will cuation you on is make sure you:

- have the boat/motor to pull it. I pull it quite easily with a 115HP on my 17' Hurricane Deck boat with 2 in the tube and several folks in the boat. It has a large surface which while making it stable, creates additional drag in the water

- have a place to store it... it is 10ft 1in long and almost 7.5ft wide at the back and weighs in a 42lbs. I carry mine 5-6 mins from my spot down to the dock and its not the weigh, but it's huge and somewhat more difficult to handle. (Simply imagine carrying a 2-3 person rubber dinghy as a comparison)

I purchased this on eBay and got a great deal (these are well over $250-300 in retail stores) Here is a posting and the actual seller I purchased from. Check his auctions as he usually has some that are biddings, some that are Buy Now, and some that are Make Offer. It was Listed at $150 and I ended up paying $115 in the offer. Good luck

Oh, and one more thing, I did have a single tube great for kids and very stable but are only available in the US. It would easily hold your two small ones in it. It's very deep and extremely stable (has a rave tail that shoots 12 ft in the air, but its design to do this keeps the tube secure in the water)

Highly recommended by doesn't meet your adult req's. Mine had one issue in that the tail ripped from the canvas cover but leaving the tube fully functional. However, I'd blame me more for that having exceeded the weight restrictions of a total 175lbs)

You can find it here but I local retailers should sell much less (Again I paid $149 Cdn last year) (http://www.ravesports.com/products/boat_towables/hydro/)

I'd personally consider the Rave for your kids and fun tube for the adults. If $$$$ is the deciding factor, consider the SeaDoo X-Team 2 Person. It's great and I got very positive comments from riders and other boaters alike.

Hope this helps.

The sea doo products are great but expensive.
Take a trip to a Bass Pro Shop, thet have some great variety and some good sale prices. We went for a 2 man tube a few years ago and it was out of stock. They gave us a 4 man better tube for the same price. We have had endless fun with it.

I would second the Rave Sports Hydro mentioned in the first post. It's good for an adult with my 5 year old. She could go by herself, but not confident enough yet. If you go slow, it rides nice and smooth. Once the speed gets over 13 mph it starts to bounce in the wake. My daughter does not like the bouncing at all, but for adults it's fine. If you really get the speed up, adults can have fun on it as well and it is possible to flip. Overall a good quality tube for kids, but I will be on the lookout for a flat 'normal' tube for older kids and adults.
