I like to watch racing in the rain, it sorts out those who can really drive and those who just pilot the fastest cars.

Yeah, I hear ya RPJS, but these things don't even have windscreen wipers. They have tested rain tires for road courses, but have never used them.

Those roundy round races are boring to me, but don't get the idea that those guys don't need real driving talent to do that. I agree that they would be evn more boring in the rain.<br /><br />A number of NASCAR and Indy drivers have shone at the Daytona 24hours, have won at LeMans, driven F1, etc.

Yea, but let them strap 7000 HP on their arse and launch them at more G's than the space shuttle pulls, and then again less that 41/2 seconds later at over 320 MPH when they pull the shutes, then you will see the difference between the men and the boys.

Well, Spinner. They don't have 7KHP and 9Gs but they do experience up to 6Gs plus, minus and sideways from both sides, and they do it for a couple of hours at a time. Greater average G loads than a F-15 pilot and they don't have G suits.<br /><br />I drove roundy rounds and I drove road courses and the road courses are much more punishing on the body.<br /><br />MRS has it, IMNHO. F1 is the most demanding of skill and conditioning of any motor sport. I stayed up 'til 3:00 AM this morning to watch the Malaysian GP. Those guys are the best in the world. I guess it is worth noting that they also make more money than NFL or NBA superstars.

I like them straight line racers though and with 3 million in payroll, one of the most expesive types of racing.<br />Now the road races aren't so bad, but that just going around and around makes me dizzy.<br />I like the crashes though.

A very compelling part of NASCAR to me is the financial health of the sport. I am not sure about F1 as far as that is concerned, but the huge role of the Sponsor in NASCAR insures this circuit's survival. The roundy round circly dizzy part helps too. Makes it work on TV . . .

JB I stayed up last night and watched the same ended at 1:00 here on the west coast. The f1 series is the only one I watch those guys are unreal plus we have an USA driver in there now. Scott Speed his real name hope he does well in the next few years.

TIVO for me. I have my Sunday routine though. Clean up the garage, do a few honey do's, play ball with the kids, watch the race wound in between all that stuff

JB et all<br />I really enjoy F1 (I like all types of racing)I watched the race as well.My only wish for F1 is that more than 4 people have a shot at winning a race. The technology is astounding though 19,000 rpm from a v-8 that is amazing.
