One more wiring question

My OB is a Evinrude 70HP engine, already installed and working are the Nav lights, fuel, speed, rpm guages and fishfinder which are all running through a breaker panel connected to there switch. These accessories are connected to the Starting battery a 27D group marine deep cycle battery.

There is also the bilge and livewell switch already installed and connected to the breaker panel. I have read where the trolling motor, bilge pump and livewell should be connected directly to the battery. I plan on purchasing another battery such as the everstart marine battery 27dc6 and that brings me to my question.

Can I run these three off of the same battery. Or is there a different way I should connect everything so that I am able to run all of these devices?

Lastly if I can run these three on the same battery can I leave them independant of each other or would I be better served installing a battery switch between the two?

Just an fyi, more of a weekend fisherman, when work permits maybe a weekday here and there.

Re: One more wiring question

Ok, judging from the diagrams I can run the Livewell on the same battery as the other installed devices.

But I do not see where a trolling motor and bilge pump running off of the same battery so I'm still a little unclear on the set up.

Re: One more wiring question

If it helps i run 2 independent batterys with no switch-
Starting battery (usual things connected, + Fish Finder)
"Trolling Motor" battery + bilge pump, radio, cigar lighter

Best thing i added was a 2 bank on board charger

You can run any device off any battery. 12 volts is 12 volts and the device doesn't care where it gets it. The trolling motor is the highest current draw of any of the items you mentioned. It obviously should NEVER be connected to a starting battery as sooner or later you will be left unable to start the motor. Everything else, and I do mean everything else can be left attached to the starting battery and the engine will keep it charged just fine. For starting batteries a dual purpose starting/deep cycle is suggested. In fact many folks use deep cycles for outboard starting and that too is acceptable. Starting a big block GM I/O is another story however. You don't need a battery switch but you should install a two bank charger and plug in at the dock to keep things topped off.
