I would probably feel a little better if they had them walk the plank, but nailing their butts is a major plus.

Historically, pirates were hung. Seems like a good idea now, too.

Whoa there JB! Death penalty with no trials? Getting a little ahead of yourself aren't you? Thought in this highly moderated forum, that kind of stuff was frowned upon?

Who said anything about no trials? A good swim would make them smell better, and even William Teach had a trial. . . . . . before they hung him, that is.

Must have a trial. You never know, these guys were probably just cruising around 328 nautical miles from Oman and came upon this abandoned ship making way. They probably thought, hey we have this spare grappling hook/ ladder, lets use it to exercise salvage rights. Hope none of the "Suspected" pirates got hurt, because they might sue for damages in the US legal system. This would be bad because as you know the government is operating on a Continual resolution budget.

Justice should be swift so as to discourage this type of activity. Its not like anyone can go into Somalia and destroy it any worse than it is currently.

Why have a trial? Seriously. If a trial is required, it should be set up about 500 miles away,let them swim there!

This is supposed to be a country of laws, and that includes our military agents. Trials are a must. Besides, if the prosecution couldn't get a conviction against these creeps, the pirates deserve to go free, and said prosecutors hung by their toes until they smarten up.
