Hi, picked up my new boat and had the dealership install a Guest 2 bank 3/3 6 amp Charger.

Well i plugged in the charger and noone of the lights are coming on... there is a green for ready and red for charging.. but it acts like its not getting power... It says ignition protected ... Do I need to have the boat setup a certain way I had all power off with key and main power tunred off as well... Any help would be apprecated... It is connected to two other batterys.

Use a volt meter and check the voltage at the battery. Then plug it in and you will see a slight increase in voltage if it is working.

Are you sure the extension cord you are using is ok? Plug a light into it to verify you have power at the end of the cord. Even if the charger is not connected to the batteries the one of the indicators should come on.

Re: Onboard Charger problem

Is there a fuse between the charger and the batts? If so is it a "spring loaded fuse holder? Problems can occur with either a blown fuse or bad fuse connection. In one instance my charger indicated full charge due to the fuse connection being corroded a little. if this is the case you may want to consider another type of fuse holder.
