I have a 1976 envinrude 85hp. I run depth/sonar/ down imagining etc.. hardly ever use radio. But here's the catch I use A motor guide 31lb thrust troller and run a spot light most of the night while bow fishing...

Before anyone says it, I don't have room for a generator as of right now.

I have looked at on board maintainers but to my knowledge my.motor doesn't have a alternator. I'm new in THIS AREA. I'm tired of having to charge bats all the time.

I am considering solar cells as well. Just looking for advice and help. Thank you

An onboard charger requires a 110V AC connection. It has nothing to do with boat's engine's charging system.

In order to charge your batteries with solar cells, you would need solar cells the size of your boat. They aren't really feasible to use unless all you want them to do is provide a trickle charge.
