So I saw the Billy Mays snake oil salesmans pitch for the "dualsaw" by omni corp this morning. (website found here);

https://www.dualsaw.com/?cid=609705&page=index

After some research I found sears makes the same thing here...

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00925574000P?vName=Tools&keyword=twincutter#reviewsWrap

Counter rotating blades.... the idea intrigues me. If the brand was Snap-on(not that they are known for woodworking tools), Porter Cable, DeWalt, Delta or another notable name I would probably scoop 1 up in a minute.

Anyone have any experience with either of these tools they would like to share. Both Yeah and Nay?

What would you use one of these for?

It's a pretty innovative idea IMO. Looks like it would be a lot safer for plunge cuts. I'd go with the Craftsman since I'd feel it's better quality and they should keep blades for it.

$180 + $40 for S & H

I agree and would go with Sears ONLY if I had a sincere need that would pay for it!

i could think of a few times when i could have used one of those..........if i had the money to spend i would like to have one...........thing is i have all the tools to do the job this tool does....i think---i didnt wathc the whole commercial.......but it would be convenient.

which one to buy is a whole other subject.........what you need to do if you are going to buy one is check out how much the blades are and how accessible they are for you........those would be my deciding factors.

if you buy one let us know how it works.

I own one and it is rare that I need it or even think to use it but when I do......
The thing is amazing- It doesn't jump off the cut because of the counter rotation helps stabilaize the tool while it obliverates wood, metal, etc....
I know I could easily make it through life without it's existence, but it does have it's uses. It is super fast too.

Ayuh,... I've got 1,..

While it's not my go-to tool,.. It's really handy at times...
The thing will chew thru Anything you put in front of it,...
Even heavy structual Steel,...1/4",.. 1/2",.. No Problem, just go Slow...
The 1 thing that it Is my go-to tool for is SSteel,...
SSteel is a Real Pain to work with because Nothing cuts it nicely,..
Can't torch it,... A grinder leaves Loosy edges,..
Dig out theTwin-blade,+ you get Perfect cuts, with Perfect edges....Atleast up to 1/4" thick,...

My Love likes to borrow it for undercutting when she's doing tile work,...
She says it more manageable than the little saw blade on a 4" grinder....
Much Safer too...

Ayuh,... I Abused the 'ell outa my 1st 1, I ended up burning the motor out on it,...
I couldn't wait to replace it.....
No way I want to be without 1 again.....

Looks like a must have tool to me! I'm tired of gumming my way thru sheet steel or aluminum with a hacksaw.

It looks like the sears unit has a larger blade diameter than the huckster's model?

How well do the blades hold up and what do they cost to replace?

EDIT: I just read the reviews on the Sears Model. It appears that it is not very durable.

The non sears one looks more like a toy to me. The Sears one(which is good) is of course Craftsman, which I don't care for too much for in general when it comes to my power tools but I believe they got the market on this one. I sometimes use it as a jamb saw. I usually have the right tool on hand for most of the things I do. To me it's more of a novelty tool so I haven't replaced blades. The best part about it to me as I mentioned earlier is the fact that it won't jump all over the place.

Surely you don't think Craftsman actually makes Craftsman?
They sub out to other manufacturers.

I just simply have never had an electric tool with a craftsman label on it that measured up to my needs over a reasonable amount of time compared to others. Regardless of who actually makes them, they're not my fave.
