Since I got my boat last summer the the trim sender was faulty and now I have bought a new one I will be fitting it in the next couple of weeks,i noticed next to the drivers seat is a trailer switch,is this for the outdrive to be put in a safe position. Also took some picture of a trim outdrive control box, anyone got any info on these.does the sender have to set up with this box.

Cheers

Not sure what you mean by safe position, the trailer switch brings the drive all the way up for trailering, the kill switch is the safety switch for the engine. Just happens to be on the same panel as the trailer switch.

PS: I also added the following to your signature so we don't have to keep asking or looking up what you have with each thread. It will show up next time you post.

OMC 5.7L EFI 57FAPLKD
Serial: T01304118
Year: 1997
Volvo equivalent 5.7GLiPLKDCE

You would have to ask the boat manufacture why they have two. They do lots of things people can't explain.

The the switch on the throttle lever controls the trim in and out but has a safety feature that prevents you from bringing the drive too far out of the water when you're running. The trailer switch overrides this and allows you to raise the drive all the way up.
