OMC Type 3 Outdrive

I have an old 1974ish OMC outdrive (Type 3) bolted to a OMC 225 Chev 307 in a 1974 Crestliner. The manual mentions lubricating the upper and lower units with OMC Type C. I am having a little difficulty finding this stuff. Does anyone else have this problem?<br /><br />Also, I have seen a lot more OMC 800 around than these type III units. Can I simply unbolt the Type III and replace with the 800 series?<br /><br />Just thinking.
