Both the Seloc manual and an OMC parts catalogue refered to an oring to be installed with all the various washers, tension washers, bushings, clips yada yada yada.

The oring is not pictured in the Seloc manual, I don't remember in the OMC parts breakdown where it went and I don't remember seeing one, or remnants thereof, when I pulled the thing apart a year ago.

Any input here? I'd even be humble enough to accept it from any of you OMC un-appreciators. :D

Incidently, the forward steering shaft bushing, which is a flimsy little nylon bushing, is no longer serviced. I probably could have reused mine but it had a corner breaking off the the split part. Luckily a local boat shop had 5 in stock.

Shoot me an email... kagee108@cs.com
I'll reply in the AM with a couple of scans. The O ring goes between the retainer and the cap.

"I'd even be humble enough to accept it from any of you OMC un-appreciators."

Remember "Little Rascals"? The "He-man Woman haters Club? I think we have our own version of that here. :D

Yeah hystat. all the others are just jealous that they can't have one too. :p

They're so busy messing with gimbals, bellows, rotten mount stringer and transoms and alignments that they can't see the forest for the trees.

Mine is now 30 y/o and I just had it gone thru for GP's. They did replace the water pump drive shafts which were showing wear.
