Is there a substitute grease that you can use instead of the suggested OMC T.G. (Triple Guard)?

In the manual that I have, OMC T.G. is listed everywhere as the grease of choice, but I was wondering if I could use White Lithium grease instead?

If not, is there another grease that can be used? I would think that in 20+ years, there is probably a better grease to use than the OMC T.G. but I could be wrong. Thanks for any and all information.

There isn't a better waterproof grease than the OMC triple guard. You can try the Merc/Quicksilver equivalent but the OMC stuff really is the best I have used

What's your beef with Triple Guard? They sell it at Wally World. Or is it more of a curiosity question?

Curiosity only. I have a container of lithium grease on the work bench but would have to go purchase Triple Guard, so I was wondering if the lithium would work instead. Guess I'll be going to the store this evening haha.
