Hi, I have a 1981 omc 800 series powered by a gm 3.8L V6. The trim system is working properly. I am wondering if there is such a thing as a pump rebuild kit. Also does anyone know the specs on the pump (what is the pressure output, etc) because I am thinking of just hooking up a similar, standard hydraulic pump. Any input is much appreciated, thanks

Re: Omc Trim Pump

Oh, right. Well it had been sitting for a long time (6 years) and it appears as though it is not working. The electric motor will run good, but something isnt right in the pump. It makes a metal grinding sounds, then goes quiet. The only time that it sends fluid out is when it makes the grinding sound. So I took it apart and couldnt see anything wrong. I cant find a new pump or rebuild kit anywhere online, it isnt even mentioned anywhere. I was thinking if going to this store up in canada called princess auto. They sell tonnes of auto related stuff and tools, included hydraulics equipment. I thought it might be easier and more reliable if I just put a regular hydraulic pump from those guys. Unless you have any ideas on that grinding nosie, is it a simple problem with a simple solution? Thanks
