OMC to Volvo exhaust manifolds

I was wondering what would be involved in changing over to Volvo Manifolds.Less than half the price of the OMC replacements.
I was looking at these thinking it may work?

If they look the same as your old ones it is as easy swapping them out. If not and you are not into re routing some exhaust hoses then you should be able to find the right set for about the same price.

If you have the single piece manifold/riser combination, then NO way will those fit up.
BUT !!!!!! If you get the SX style manifolds and risers, along with the 4 exhaust hoses and elbows that go between the risers and the exhaust Y, then, they might fit.
The Volvo SX style exhaust Y is the same as the OMC used. So if you go to the link below and add on the price of parts 2, 3, 4, 46, and 50, it SHOULD work.

Thankyou Don, I thought i had read at one time the Volvo parts would work if the hoses and elbows were changed also. I need to figure it all up and see if i'll be saving that much money,The cost of the manifolds plus the hoses and elbows looks like its pretty expensive.

While the cost might be a wash for this time, the next time you might save a lot. Especially if the OMC manifolds are non-existant at that time. Even if you sell the boat, the next owner might like the idea of parts that are actually available.

These are the 94 and up SX,,
Still much cheaper than the one piece replacements.

I thought about that too, since I have the one piece on mine. The angle of the Y pipe looks to be very close to the same on the Volvo as compared to the OMC. I was able to get the one piece OE stuff at the time so I did that instead. If you want to try using the Volvo stuff you might consider only ordering one side, with the understanding that you could return them if they don't fit (save on return shipping, they are heavy!!)
I have heard that Sea Way Marine in Washington State and www.ebasicpower.com are marketing conversion kits for the OMC one piece using standard aftermarket stuff.
