Howdy all,
I am going to replace the King Cobra/460 & 14.25"/20pitch in my Four Winns 211 Liberator, with a 454 powered Bravo 3 stern drive The Bravo3 is a 2:1 ratio drive and probably has 24p props on it.
I did a little prop calculating and figured that with that ratio I'd need something like 26p props to get similar performance from the Bravo3 at the same RPM.
The LIberator did 61 (radar) mph at 5100 with the 1.43 ratio King Cobra and a 19p (repitched to a 20) prop.
Can I reasonably expect to get similar performance with the 454 powered Bravo 3? (I have heard that the Bravo 3 will possibly be 5 mph slower due to the extra mass of metal spinning out there)
