The tilt gear quadrent teeth are worn out.
Were could I get a used one? I don't know what
kind it is, I see the model number on it
#983486
Bobby,
You can be in for it. You failed to mention the year and type of outdrive (i.e. Cobra, electric shift, high profile) If it is a ball gear shaft thats quite old you could be in for some costly repairs. My boat is still in the shop waiting for one. the part costs anywhere between 250 and 500. on mine.
Well, I know it's a 84 and the model I don't
know. I don't know if it's a 400 or 800?
but the gear looks like a quarter moon with
teeth. Thanks for your help..
Try Rode's Way Boats in Glendora, Ca. This guy has had every off the wall part I have ever needed. (626) 963-8568. He sounds a little grumpy sometimes, but don't let that throw you off.
