Good morning everyone. I was hoping someone could help me. I have a 1975 OMC Stringer I/O, 165 HP, 4.1 L inline 6. The tilt for the outdrive works off a worm gear which transmits power to the tilt clutch assembly via a 12 volt electric motor. I removed the entire assembly for cleaning and inspection because the 12V motor gave out. I replaced the motor and reassembled the unit but there seems to be a bind somewhere now because the motor solenoid just clicks now. Also, I cannot comprehend how the clutch assembly works. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks much.
