OMC Terminal Grease ???

Just installed a new TnT junction box assembly due to corrosion of the old one. The complete kit comes with a tube of OMC Terminal grease and it states in the instructions to fill the terminal cavities on the sending unit connectors to prevent corrosion. Iam ready to plug it all up and since i thought that it was ok for that particular plug i used it in the connection from the junction box harness to the connector from the remote control.

Did i mess up here and should i clean it all off? I do have an aerosol electrical contact cleaner and lube if need be.

Thoughts please.

Re: OMC Terminal Grease ???

Well i buttoned it all up, without the omc grease on any other connectors 'cept for the one mentioned above and.....Drumroll please

I HAVE TRIM AGAIN. I am a very happy camper.

I was worried that in the event it didn't work that i would be chasing a problem then only to find out the grease was the culprit.

I may coat the rest of the terminals if this will not cause any issues.

Comments still appreciated.

The grease is used to prevent corrosion and prevent future problems.

It is dielectric grease and you can purchase it(grease) at any auto supply house, doesnt need to be OMC brand

The grease coats the connections and prevents air from oxidizing the terminals over time. If you ever purchase an individual replacement factory spark plug wire kit, it comes with a small tube of blue grease, with instructions to apply liberally over the wire ends and the spark plug boots during assembly.

Won't hurt a thing. I even use it on my outdoor electrical recepticals to prevent corrosion.
