the shifter is stuck in foward i dont think it is the gears i think it is the shaft do yall know if the fitting on the shaft is a grease fitting it is a 15 hp

i sounds like you have remote controls. disconnect cable at motor and shift manaully. if it work the problem is in the remote or the cable.
