OMC Remote control with Mercruiser Alpha 1

Hey all, I have a 1996 Wellcraft that was repowered in 2013 with a Mercruiser and Alpha 1 Gen2 sterndrive. The remote control is the original OMC side mount that came with the boat. A while ago the remote control cable broke on the handle side and I had to replace it with a generic cable with adapters. I've been having intermittent shift interrupt issues ever since and I've narrowed them down to the controller and control cable.

I'm wondering if there's a control cable out there that has an OEM Mercruiser end with the correct barrel adjuster that will also connect to the old OMC controller. That way I could try to rehab the controller that's in the boat before I spend a pile on a new one.
