Have a OMC Durotank I think it's called from around 2000 that came with the boat I bought about 5 yrs ago and was wondering since I got it if these are supposed to build up pressure in them? The hoter out it is the more pressure.Thought these are vented somehow.I have been trying to read about them.thanks

EPA requires ventless tanks now and they can and will build pressure and swell up some....pressure is capable of causing some gasket and O-ring seal leakage in the fuel system.....maybe best to crack open filler cap just enough to allow loss of pressure but don't tell the EPA boys I said so...

The tank is vented, but it's a one-way vent when running the motor. EPA type tanks do swell and there is a over-pressure vent but the pressure pretty high. Cracking the cap is the only way to relieve the swelling.
