OMC Lower Unit Gears

Can someone look up these two OMC part numbers and tell me specifically which engine they are for? Should be a lower unit forward and reverse gear. I have an '87 40hp and need to see if these will work.<br /><br />OMC Part # 325923 (Forward Gear)<br />OMC Part # 399766 (Reverse Gear)<br /><br />Thanks..<br />Bryant

Hi Bryant.....what I can tell you is that they don't fit yer' lower unit.<br /><br />For your lower unit, the forward gear/pinion gear set was 397128 and was superceded by 433570.<br /><br />The reverse gear is 319766.
